Starring Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Zoey Deutch and Rosario Dawson
Synopsis: When Little Rock breaks away from the group in search for love, Columbus, Tallahassee and Wichita are forced to fight the fastest and strongest zombies they’ve ever encountered as they hit the road on a rescue mission.
More Info: For every person in the horror community who was pumped for a sequel to Zombieland, there was another thinking...isn’t it a little late? It’s hard to deny that the zombie craze that took pop culture by storm in the aughts has died down quite a bit. It’s a pity that this movie was stuck in “development hell” for so long. Not only is it being released at a time when the collective interest in zombies has cooled, but it was released alongside The Joker, which as I type this is already one of the top ten box office hits of the year and still raking in more money. Considering this film’s reported budget of somewhere between $42 and $48 million, it might be difficult for this movie to make its money back.
Our Discussion: Was Zombieland: Double Tap able to harness what worked in the original and put a fresh spin on things? Did the comedy work? Are the characters still as intriguing and likable as they were the first time around? And what’s the group sex policy in the apocalypse?
